We fought back and now have the #2 seed after a bad second half of the season. Will be interesting to see how the Patriots do on a neutral court like the Richmond Coliseum-hopefully better than their 6-9 record on the road, if GMU hopes to repeat as CAA champs and head back to the dance. I think they can do it. Dre Smith is getting his shooting touch back at just the right time....and Morrison and Pearson are complimenting the big men (Monroe and Birdsong) well. GO PATRIOTS!!!!!! Crunch Time...Score: 124February 12, 2009 10:37 pm
Ok well it is crunch time. our backs are against the wall and we need to step it up. Monroe had a great game tonight, but the rest of the team was lack-luster. There are too many careless turnovers. J.V. needs to be more of an offensive factor not just in the second half. Birdsong needs to step up on the boards and offensively. Dre Smith needs to be more of a team player. He needs to stop jacking up so many 3's. Pearson is doing great over the last 7 games. He is giving us quaility minutes. Cornelius is raw and needs to make his free throws but I like him. Morrison needs to step up. He often times looks lost out on the court. Isaiah Tate Is finally giving us some quality minutes but he is no 6th man. Finally Cam Long, the one who has it in him to carry this team. He has done it before against teh top team in the CAA, VCU. But he needs to stop being generous and take it to the rack. He has the ability and the talent. In my opinion, he has the talent to be better than Eric Maynor. He can be the guy who can score 20+ per game he just needs the mindset. If that means waiting until next year than so be it. We've got two more years with him and I cant wait to see what the future has instore for us. Rally around Larranaga.
